Van Insurance - No insurance may mean no work - 10/08/2008

The current state of the world’s finances has made it difficult for nearly every demographic; from the car user to the motorbike rider and all the vehicles that lie in between the pinch has been felt. It’s not only the increase in the cost of insurance premiums that have been applied by a number of providers that is causing financial discomfort for regular road users but also the never ending increase to fuel prices.

This combination of extra costs is guaranteed to force van drivers to consider cutting corners, some have chosen to increase their excess knowing that it will reduce their monthly expenditure. Others however have made the dangerous decision to cut out van insurance all together.

Despite the fact that this is actually illegal, many feel they are justified, believing in their ability as a driver to the point that they ‘know’ they would never cause an accident and as that is the only reason one has insurance, they themselves don't need the policy.

The reality is that not only could you be fined heavily but you could be banned from driving for a number of years. If you rely on your van for work purposes, the monthly outgoing of a protecting policy could prove acceptable when compared to the financially crippling cost of a withdrawn license.
