A key figure in the commercial vehicle industry has stated that as the market begins to settle, market with stabilise. The comments coming from, Alex Wright, Sales Director of Commercial Vehicles in Manheim Auctions - the world’s biggest automotive services company will be of benefit to van insurance customers. He stated that this summer time has seen a slowdown in the industry, which has not helped the sales of cars and vans.
This factor accompanied with the age and condition of the vehicles along with more stringent buyers, has led to more cautious buying and even reduced stock, from commercial vehicle vendors.
Wright also said: “More than 20 years experience of economic cycles has shown us that uncertainty can be temporary and that the somewhat volatile market we are seeing at the moment will settle down as both vendors and buyers become more familiar and comfortable with the changing trading conditions.
“Does this mean the worst is over? Not necessarily, but I am convinced that the market will settle down in the next few months and we may then begin to see the first signs of stability towards the end of the year.”
