Van Insurance - Uninsured van driver knocks teacher off bike - 19/11/2008

 
 
 

A man who drove without van insurance or a driving licence has left a music teacher fighting for his life after knocking him off his bike.

Reports said the incident which occurred last month resulted in the teacher, David Ruddock, suffering both physical and financial losses.

He now can no longer drive because of his head injuries and has lost out on £2,500 in earning as a result of the crash in Ellenbrook Road, Ipswich.

Meanwhile, the uninsured van driver, Christopher Gardiner of Rydal Walk, Ipswich has been told that he risked going to jail for driving without a licence or an insurance cover.

He was said to have panicked and driven off after smashing into Mr Ruddock.

The Evening Star reported that Gardener was the latest driver to be named and shamed in its new campaign that highlights the growing menace of drivers who violate the law and drive without valid insurance.
