Van drivers have once again been advised to ensure their tyres are in fit and working order to avoid potential accidents and unnecessary insurance claims.

Protyre have issued a rallying call for motorists to make sure the legal requirements are met.

Recent research shows one in four people in the UK are driving around on at least one defective or excessively worn tyre.

Retail director Simon Hiorns said, "We are inviting motorists to come into their local Protyre outlet for a free tyre check to protect themselves, their families and other road users."
