Van insurance customers looking to protect their cheap insurance cover are being urged to ensure they take adequate safety precautions.
After government schemes to improve road safety, statistics from the Department of Transport (DfT) has revealed that the number of casualties and fatalities as a result of road accidents has fallen.
However, motorists are now being advised to put in some effort in ensuring road safety.
Director of policy and research Neil Greig stated: "The challenge for the government is to provide a safe ... road network and for motorists to take more responsibility for their safety by treating driving as a skill for life."
Meanwhile, van drivers in search of finding new ways to reduce their running costs are being advised to follow a number of steps.
According to a price comparison website, motorists can save more cash by choosing their petrol station carefully.
It stated that the price of fuel varies at each station and motorists can end up saving a significant amount of money by opting for a new station.
It also advised motorists to fill up fuel at supermarkets as this could save more as they usually offer discounted vouchers or reward points.
