According to the owner of a stolen van, the thieves behind the crime were said to be professionals.
Now the owner, who is also a mother of five, is facing a difficult Christmas. The van was stolen from James Watt, Royal Manor.
The 44 year old owner whose business was selling burgers, said that the thieves have left her with a bill that amount to approximately £13,000.
She said that the van was wheel clamped and that the front did not have a tow bar, so the criminals would of had to have known precisely what they needed to take the vehicle away. They probably had a 4X4 or a van to tow it away. To make matters worse, the female did not have van insurance cover.
Prior to the one van getting stolen, the owner had two vans that she used to run her business. Now, she will have to fix an old van that has been lying in a field for about a decade. This will be expensive and it will probably take about 2 weeks to get it up and running. Therefore, the owner will lose out on a lot of business.
This is just one of the many cases that have occurred in the last few months. For this reason authorities all over the UK have been asking van owners to take out proper van insurance due to rising vehicle thefts.
