It has been revealed by a van insurance group that van motorists would happily turn to greener fuels, to help the climate.
A survey by the firm showed that out of 2,000 van customers, 87% would turn to more planet friendly fuel if the price was right.
73% would consider buying more energy efficient vehicles, 64% said that the cost was a major issue and 13% stated they didn’t really know much about such issues.
The most popular environmentally friendly features amongst van drivers were bio fuel, more fuel-efficient engines and low CO2 emitting engines.
Phil Moss, Commercial Vehicle Manager at Swinton, said: "With van drivers spending so much time on the roads, it is quite understandable that cost plays an important factor when choosing a vehicle - whether it's the initial price or long-term running cost.
"However, it positive to see that so many commercial vehicle drivers are open to the idea of moving towards more environmentally friendly vehicles and fuels."
