There are three different levels of van insurance cover available to the customer; third party, third party: fire and theft and fully comprehensive. The minimum level of cover required by law is third party, which covers any damage to another road user’s vehicle or injury to them. This cover does not insure the driver for damage, loss or theft to their van and property.
Third party: fire and theft offers the same protection as third party but also includes compensation for any damage to your van due to fire or theft.
Fully comprehensive insurance means you are covered for third party damage, fire and theft as well as accidental damage. With fully comprehensive cover it does not matter who is to blame for the accident, you are still covered.
If your van is used for business purposes it is considered a commercial vehicle, if you do not use your van for business purposes you will require private cover, and should inform Only Insurance of this when buying their policy.
If you need to be covered to drive vans other than your own or need extra cover for expensive tools or equipment stored in your van you should let Only Insurance know when applying for your policy to make sure you are fully covered.
